Indian star batter Virat Kohli was clearly left speechless over his luck as he survived a controversial DRS call during the 2nd ODI between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo.

During India’s chase, Akila Dananjaya got Kohli in front of stumps on the last ball of 15th over. Sri Lankan team thought they had gotten Kohli’s wicket as on-field umpire raised his finger. Though, after discussion with Shubhman Gill, Kohli asked for a review.

The replay left Sri Lanka team along with the coaching staff in shoch, as Ultra Edge showed a spike from Kohli’s bat. Since Ultra Edge showed a spike, meaning an inside edge, the third umpire ordered the decision to be overturned.
This left Sri Lankan players in shock as Charith Asalanka was spotted having a heated conversation with the umpire. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s head coach Sanath Jayasuriya heatedly left the dressing room to have a discussion with reserve umpire.

The issue came from the fact that whether the spike in Ultra Edge was from Kohli’s bat or not. Kohli’s delay in asking for a review also raised questions. Even though some claimed there was gap between bat and ball, there was a visible deviation before the ball hit the pad.
