Report: Spurs just need to agree bonuses before transfer is finally completed

According to a report in Sky Sports Italy (as relayed by Milan News), Tottenham and AC Milan are now discussing how the add-ons and bonuses would be structured as Emerson Royal’s move to the Serie A club gets closer.

Emerson Royal to AC Milan continues to rumble on

With Spurs returning to London following the conclusion of the Asia tour, one would expect Emerson’s proposed move to Milan, which has been moving painfully slowly, to now accelerate.

Sky Italy explain that the main sticking point has been the transfer fee but that is now close to being resolved, with the two clubs nearing the ‘closing of the deal’.

The report says that the parties have agreed on an initial fee of around €14m, with bonuses and add-ons now being hashed out.

The idea is to bring the figure to around €16m, with add-ons set to be linked to both personal and team objectives.

Once those details are ironed out, the right-back will get the green light to travel to Italy to complete his medical and sign on the dotted line.

Tottenham currently have Pedro Porro, Djed Spence and Archie Gray in the squad for the 2024/25 season, all of whom can play at right-back.

Different outlets are reporting different fees for Emerson but the one thing that is clear is that the fee will involve plenty of appearance-based and performance-based bonuses.

I don’t see this transfer falling through now though. Talks have been going on for far too long for either side to back out now.
