Budapest Airport, operated by VINCI Airports, has welcomed the launch of a dynamic new route from Shenzhen, marking an expansion in connectivity and reinforcing its position the leading airport in the CEE region.  As a returning carrier, Hainan Airlines has introduced this new destination on the airport’s route map, utilising the Chinese carrier’s 787 Dreamliners on the 8,499-kilometre sector.

Francios Berisot, CEO, Budapest Airport states: “It’s wonderful to be able to welcome Shenzhen as the latest addition to the expanding list of destinations available from Budapest. The return of Hainan Airlines today is especially significant on the 20th anniversary of the airlines’ first European operation.” Berisot adds: “The start of this strategic route reflects our dedicated work to enhance connectivity and offer our passengers an unparalleled travel experience.”

Launching a twice-weekly link between Budapest and the vibrant city of Shenzhen, the latest new route will represent the seventh Chinese destination available from Hungary’s capital city. Hainan Airlines’ resumption of operations underscores the airport’s commitment to provide diverse travel options and to continually grow international connections.

Operating twenty weekly flights between the Asian country and Hungary, Budapest Airport will offer over 400,000 two-way annual seats to China.
