Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has now joined the calls for Parliament to be recalled after six days of ‘racist and Islamophobic’ riots sweeping across the nation.

In a statement on X, the politician said he is ‘appalled by the levels of violence in the last couple of days’, blaming a ‘population explosion without integration’.

Police were faced with violence in Rotherham, Middlesbrough, Bristol, Bolton and other parts of the UK on Sunday. Extremists smashed windows, shops, cars and lit bins on fire, while also attacking officers with pieces of wood, chairs and bricks.

Downing Street will also convene a Cobra emergency response meeting to discuss plans to curb the spread of the violence.
