East Bay pets of the week for Aug. 9

Area shelters’ dogs and cats need their "forever" homes.

Hi, I’m Bailey! I’m a fun-loving girl with a zest for life and a heart full of energy! After some recovery from patella surgery, I’m ready to dive into hikes, outings and playtime with cool toys. I might need a bit of help from an experienced adopter with my initial excitement, but once settled I’m all about belly rubs and snuggles. Let’s start our joy ride together and make every day an adventure! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

Beautiful, blue-eyed Cattledog Lotus is eager to show you her bubbly personality. This 6-month-old pup loves to play, roll around and walk the distance, plus will make a wonderful hiking or adventure companion.

Meet Lotus at our Dublin Adoption Center! The East Bay SPCA offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Rocky Road probably doesn’t realize how adorable and show-stopping his wonky ears are. The gangly, sweet, smart 4-month-old pup is learning his manners nicely. He plays in a cute and awkward fashion with other dogs and enjoys hanging with people. We’re pretty sure he’s going grow into those big paws and legs! To meet this pet at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt.

Take a look at Alice. She’s one of a number of kittens we have available right now. She was found alone and scared. She’s only 2 months old at the most. The foster family Alice is living with say she’s having a ball playing with all the kittens and harassing the older cat, trying to get him to play too. People are on her play list also. For more information about Alice or any other adoptable pets with the Contra Costa SPCA, call Pat at 925-323-0667.
