New car sales continue to rise but likelihood of achieving electric vehicle targets looks bleak

In July, fully electric cars made up 18.5% of all sales. In order to meet binding EV sales targets set out by the Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate, this share needs to rise to 22% in 2024.
