The beast has its terrifying razor-sharp teethon show, with an uncanny likeness to Bruce, from the 1975blockbuster Jaws.

The unfazed divers then swim towards the creature to probe it with a torch.

But as the camera angle shifts, its body shows signs of wear and tear appearing to be orange scuffs and peeling paint.

The pair dare to inspect its terrifying gaping mouth which holds the monster’s incredibly jagged teeth, with their spotlight.

The minute-long YouTube clip then pans to show the rear of the threatening creature, which boasts seven scary spikes.

Internet sleuths on Reddit theorise that the menacing predator in the video is a decaying statue once used as a movie prop.

The fibreglass relic is thought to be a staggering 20 feet long and almost 50 years old.

Redditors say that the faux shark was the star of Swiss movie Choc au Lac! set in the town of Neuchâtel, allegedly made in 1975.

In the film, the shark terrorised locals and is said to have been first discovered in 2002 – an eerie 27 years after it was filmed.

Some are unconvinced that the shark is a film prop, and think an mischievous prankster is more likely to have dumped it in the water.

Terrified viewers were so put off the shark statue they refused to ever visit the picturesque Swiss town’s lake.

One said: “I’d never go diving in that unclear water but if I saw that I would literally die.”

Another wrote: “I’m just so genuinely upset by this image.

“The uncanny smile, the teeth, the murky depths, the only reason I can look at it at all is because the divers’ presence helps me feel less vulnerable.”

A different Redditor penned: “I’d be freaking out if I was underwater and knew it was there still.

“Can you imagine swimming to a statue and it suddenly starts moving towards you?”

While another branded the statue as “pure evil”, with one even admitting: “No joke I am NOT sleeping tonight”.
