Man dressed as Amazon employee caught on camera stealing packages in Rock Creek

A man was caught on camera dressed in Amazon clothes stealing packages from apartments in Rock Creek, authorities said.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man was caught on camera dressed in Amazon clothes stealing packages from apartments in Rock Creek, authorities said.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, before 5 a.m. Monday morning, residents at the North Ridge Apartments reported the suspect.

Authorities quickly responded to the scene and found the suspect who was dressed in an Amazon vest and took him into custody.

Upon further investigation, authorities said the suspect stole and opened several packages left on doorsteps and also stole spray paint from an apartment's back porch and used it to vandalize a car.

The suspect, later identified as Jamie Lee Baxter, 46, was taken to jail and faces charges including first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree theft.

Investigators said they think there could be more victims elsewhere and they are asking anyone with information about Baxter to contact police.
