2 injured, Route 440 to close after NJ crash: Officials

BAYONNE, N.J. (PIX11) – A crash in Bayonne caused delays on Route 440 Monday during the morning commute, according to the Bayonne Office of Emergency Management. 

Photos purportedly show steel beams crashed into a car on the southbound side of Route 440 around 7:45 a.m., officials said. The southbound side of the highway closed just before 10 a.m. at 63rd Street for cleanup.

Two people were hospitalized with minor injuries, according to a spokesperson for OEM.

"Expect slow down and delays on Rt 440 South near the Loop," Bayonne OEM officials said.
