LUS in route to Florida to assist with Hurricane Debby recovery efforts

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- LUS is in route to Tallahassee, Florida to help with Hurricane Debby recovery efforts.
LUS linemen are making the two-day journey to Florida and are ready to work once the storm passes. LUS will be supporting Florida Municipal Electric Association with restoring power.
Debby strengthened to a Category 1 Hurricane storm with wind speeds at 80 mph. Hurricane Debby made landfall in the Big Bend area of Florida this morning.
Power outages started on Sunday evening as the storm moved in leaving thousands of residents without electricity.
LUS is going to be on location and ready to assist.
