Duson traffic stop leads to drug arrest

Bradley Lyons, 26, of Rayne, is charged with possession with intent to distribution of marijuana and possession of psilocybin mushrooms and monies derived from drug proceeds.

DUSON, La. (KLFY) -- A man was charged with drug offenses after being pulled over for speeding in Duson, authorities said.

Bradley Lyons, 26, of Rayne, was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for possession with intent to distribution of marijuana and possession of psilocybin mushrooms and monies derived from drug proceeds.

Duson Police Chief Kip Judice said Lyons was pulled over for speeding on Friday, and admitted to the officer that he had illegal drugs inside his car.

A search of the vehicle yielded a total of 277 grams of marijuana, 30 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a digital pocket scale, and glass pipes with residue. A search of the driver's person yielded 10 ziplock bags and $4,025 in cash, police said.

Lyons was also issued a citation for speeding.

Bond details were not released.
