COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A fast-casual salad restaurant with more than 200 locations across the United States has announced when its first Ohio location is opening in Columbus.

Sweetgreen announced Thursday its Short North store will open for business in September, but it did not specify the day. The salad shop will be located at 700 N. High St.

“We’ve been blown away by the excitement and welcome the community has already extended to us, and we can’t wait to give Columbus a taste of Sweetgreen,” said Jonathan Neman, co-founder and CEO of the brand.

Specializing in salads and grain bowls with regionally sourced ingredients like apples, kale, sweet potatoes and goat cheese, Sweetgreen said it will bring a "fresh and crave-able" dining option to Columbus. It also serves freshly baked bread from Midwest partners.

Since it was founded in 2007, Sweetgreen has expanded to more than 230 locations across the country. Sweetgreen has also committed to becoming carbon-neutral by the end of 2027.
