Karen Pittman (‘The Morning Show’): Emmys 2024 episode submission revealed

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Karen Pittman is entering “The Morning Show” episode “Love Island” as her 2024 Emmy Award submission for Best Drama Supporting Actress. “Love Island” debuted on October 4, 2023, and is the fifth episode of the Apple TV+ drama’s third season.

In “Love Island,” the audience learns about the relationship Mia (Pittman) forms with a photojournalist during the pandemic. The episode was written by Zander Lehmann and directed by Stacie Passon.

Pittman is a first-time Emmy Award nominee. For this 2024 contest, she is competing against Christine Baranski (“The Gilded Age”), her co-star Nicole Beharie (“The Morning Show”), Elizabeth Debicki (“The Crown”), her co-star Greta Lee (“The Morning Show”), Lesley Manville (“The Crown”) and her co-star Holland Taylor (“The Morning Show”). The 2023 category winner was Jennifer Coolidge for “The White Lotus.” Debicki is the only 2023 nominee returning to the category in 2024.

“The Morning Show” received 16 total nominations this year, including its first-ever Best Drama Series mention, as well as Best Drama Actress nominations for Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, Best Drama Supporting Actor nominations for Billy Crudup, Jon Hamm and Mark Duplass, Best Drama Supporting Actress nominations for Beharie, Lee, Pittman, and Taylor, and a guest acting nomination for Marcia Gay Harden.
