Reese Witherspoon Is Reportedly 'Taking Things Slow' With Her New Beau for This Important Reason

If you’re up-to-date with all things Reese Witherspoon, then you know that The Morning Show star reportedly has a new beau, German private equity financier Oliver Haarmann, following her divorce last year from Jim Toth. But as the two continue to get photographed here and there by paparazzi, new sources are dishing on how Witherspoon is approaching her first post-divorce relationship.

“[Witherspoon] is taking things slow when it comes to dating,” a source recently told People.

In fact, the Oscar winner is taking it so slowly, that’s she not really prioritizing their connection that much right now. “She enjoys it but doesn’t want it to be a big focus,” the source explained. “She’s busy with work and her son.”

As a reminder, Witherspoon shares youngest son Tennessee, 11, with ex-husband Toth as well as kids Ava, 24, and Deacon, 20, with her first husband Ryan Phillippe.

“These are her biggest priorities,” the source added.

But, despite prioritizing being a mom and an actress and producer, it seems Witherspoon has made time to go on some dates too. Last week, Daily Mail reported that she and Haarmann were spotted on a “string of dates” recently in New York City.

In one of those meetings, Witherspoon was pictured in a black maxi dress and heels and Haarmann in a white shirt and blue trousers before they hopped into an SUV for a dinner date. A day earlier, they were seen arriving at a heliport together before heading to an apartment building.

Haarmann is currently a founding partner of Searchlight Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm in Europe and North America. Before that, he was a senior partner of the global investment firm KKR & Co.

As for his education, the 56-year-old earned A.B. degrees in history and international relations from Brown in 1990 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1996.

Haarman was once married to businesswoman Mala Gaonkar (she is now dating musician David Byrne). The former couple share two sons.

Knowing that these two might still be healing from their respective splits, it seems slow and steady might be the best approach after all!
