'Impeach him now': Critics pile on 'corrupt' Clarence Thomas over new revelations

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) revealed on Monday that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has failed to disclose even more gifts in the form of private flights paid for by GOP megadonor Harlan Crow.

This news comes only a few weeks after it was announced that Thomas was referred to the Department of Justice for failing to disclose the gifts.

Chief Justice John Roberts, who is tasked with policing ethics and enforcing the rules, has so far resisted requests by the United States Senate to answer questions about Thomas' activities.

As MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin explained, "By law, justices are required to fill out a financial disclosure form each year, including, among other things, outside sources of income and gifts. But Clarence Thomas's form for 2010 does not list any flights on Harlan Crow's jet."

Slate judicial reporter Mark Joseph Stern questioned, "Did Clarence Thomas really think the Senate wouldn’t uncover the records of these secret jet trips? Just a baffling tactical move to keep concealing them and hope nobody found out."

Legal analyst and Donald Trump foe George Conway feigned shock: "Knock me over with a commercial airline boarding pass (not that Justice Thomas would know what one is)."

"As I’m sure you suspected, Clarence Thomas is even more corrupt than previously reported," writer Jason Karsh responded to the news on X.

"When you're a justice, they let you do it. You can do anything," quipped political scientist Dr. Miranda Yaver, referring to Trump's "Access Hollywood" tape.

Dr. Steven Buckley, a lecturer in media and communications, demanded, "Impeach him now. His corruption is just so blatant and ridiculous at this point."

"What a crook and a grifter and a liar. People have gone to prison for far less than this," posted tennis legend Martina Navratilova.

When responding to the news that Wyden sent a recommendation to the DOJ, television writer, producer, and stand-up comedian, Steve Marmel posted a gif of a slow-moving turtle saying, "Merrick Garland finally moving toward Clarence Thomas."
