Morning Live’s Kym Marsh lands brand new travel show with GMB star as daytime TV rivals team up

TWO daytime TV rivals are packed up and heading on holiday together for Channel 5.

Kym Marsh, who co-hosts BBC daytime show Morning Live, will present a new programme alongside Richard Arnold from ITV1’s Good Morning Britain.

The Weekend Travel Show promises to take viewers on a journey across the globe to some of the world’s travel hotspots.

Channel 5 bosses plan to showcase trips taken by a range of celebrities, including singer Jane McDonald, comedian Susan Calman, DIY guru Nick Knowles and father and son presenters Larry and George Lamb.

Former Coronation Street actress Kym and Richard will share anecdotes from their own travels.

They will be joined by travel writer Simon Calder and other experts who will offer practical advice.

Viewers will be given travel hacks, ranging from how to fit the most luggage possible into your suitcase to what books to take for a leisurely read.

Kim, who presents Morning Live with Gethin Jones and Michelle Ackerley, said: “I’m excited to be part of The Weekend Travel Show with Richard.

“What better way to explore some beautiful destinations from the comfort of your own home?”

Richard added: “I love to travel and I can’t wait to dive into these wonderful travel stories and share our own fun experiences along with top tips for viewers.”

Greg Barnett, commissioning editor at Channel 5, said: “I’m thrilled to have Kym and Richard on board.

“They’re both well-travelled and have incredible insights in the fields of travelling alone, with friends and, in Kym’s case, as a parent.”

He added: “Their knowledge, anecdotes, and their fantastic on-screen chemistry is going to make The Weekend Travel Show must- see TV for any budding globetrotter.”

The new storyline follows the trial for the murder of a local landowner in western Australia.

The show was one of ITVX’s most successful dramas with 26million streams.

The thriller, which is yet to be given a title, is rumoured to be about a community plagued by shark attacks during a hurricane.

Phoebe stars alongside Gladiator actor Djimon Hounsou and Gossip Girl actress Whitney Peak.

The movie is made by HyperObject Industries, the production company behind the Leonardo DiCaprio hit Don’t Look Up, comedy thriller The Big Short and multi-award-winning drama series Succession.

Filming has been taking place in the forest region of the Macedon Ranges, the Australian city of Canterbury and at the London movie studio Docklands.

The show examines how different sounds in the natural world influence the lives of animals across the globe.

Sky Nature originally aired the three-part series in March.

ROYAL SHOCKS RETURN

HIT documentary series The Royals: A History Of Scandals is coming back to Channel 4.

Historian Suzannah Lipscomb returns as host, digging into some saucy and salacious secrets of yesteryear.

The first series, which aired last year, looked into George IV’s insatiable appetite for spending and Prince Albert Victor’s gay brothel rumours.

But this season will take things even further, spanning 1,200 years of royal scandals.

Among the outrages explored is the sex chair that was designed for Prince Bertie – who later became Edward VII.

Suzannah will also explore the relationship between Prince George, Duke of Kent, and the controversial American socialite whose drug addiction earned her the nickname “the girl with the silver syringe”
