'Billions' Actor Akili McDowell Arrested & Charged with Murder

Akili McDowell has been arrested.

The 21-year-old actor, best known for his roles in Billions and David Makes Man, was booked into the Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas on Thursday, August 1 on charges of murder and theft, according to online public records. His bond has been placed at $400,210 for both alleged crimes.

Keep reading to find out more…Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced McDowell‘s arrest in a statement on Facebook, reporting that the shooting occurred on July 20 in the parking lot of an apartment complex near East Harris County. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Cesar Peralta, was pronounced dead on the scene.

“The investigation is on-going and we encourage anyone with info to contact the Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100,” Sheriff Gonzalez added.

The statement noted that the “suspect(s) fled the scene” and as of right now, it’s unclear how McDowell was identified as a suspect and apprehended.

McDowell is due in court on Tuesday, August 6, on the theft charge and again on October 9 for the murder charge.
