Officers sped to the flat at 6am but got no response from the mum of two so called paramedics and rescue workers.

Fire crews got in via an open upstairs window and discovered the guilty Amazon smartspeaker, which was playing Heart Radio.

Business owner Emma and her children were at her mum’s 18 miles away from the drama in Ramsgate, Kent.

Emma said: “My poor neighbours had to deal with all this while I was tucked up asleep — with no idea what was going on.

“When I returned I just thought everyone in the street would hate me.

“I have two kids so normally I am the one complaining about noise on the street.

“I found a text saying ‘Sorry to be a party pooper, but could you turn off the music?’.

“Somehow it had managed to turn itself on the highest volume all night long.

“It was all a drama, and quite funny but it’s good to know the emergency services would go that far to save me.

“I left the Alexa off for a few days just from the trauma of what happened. Every time I go out now, I leave it turned off.

“And it’s never on when I sleep in case it happens again.”
