Kit Harington Was Anxious to Join 'Industry' Cast Due to His Self-Proclaimed 'Fanboy' Status

Kit Harington has joined the cast of Industry for its new season and has unique feelings about it.

The 37-year-old actor was spotted promoting his new show by appearing on CBS Mornings on Monday (August 5) in New York City.

Even though Kit didn’t join the cast until this upcoming third season, which premieres on August 11th, he admits to having binged the show during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Even with a resume as impressive as Harington’s, the actor still manages to be nervous! He even compared his nerves about being on the new season as similar to those of actors that guest starred on Game of Thrones while also being a fan themselves.

“I was coming in as the fanboy,” Harington explained to CBS Mornings. “And I remember on Game of Thrones we’d have people coming in who were kind of fans of the show and they were overawed by being on the set. And I felt exactly like that, not wanting to ask for selfies with the rest of the cast.”

Kit will be playing a character called Sir Henry Muck. The actor claims to have pulled real-life inspiration from well-known tech giants, but didn’t elaborate on who those inspirations may be… Described as a “tech bro” with a “British class system background,” Harington said to have found the role to be, “quite an alluring combination to kind of get my teeth into.”

If you’re as excited for the third season of Industry as Kit is, be sure to check out the new trailer! Season three premieres on HBO on August 11th.
