Illinois deputy who fatally shot Sonya Massey said he feared for his life

In a statement after he shot and killed Sonya Massey in her home in Springfield, Ill., sheriff's deputy Sean Grayson said he feared "great bodily harm or death" from a pot of boiling water Massey was carrying in her kitchen. The statement was in field reports from deputies who responded to Massey's home on July 6. Grayson has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges. NBC News' Antonia Hylton reports.
