“Knock Knock Knock.” It’s the minimalist rock band Spoon, and they still want your soul. They Want My Soul, the band’s experimental eighth LP, is getting the deluxe “More Soul” treatment to celebrate the album’s tin anniversary. The album, available now digitally, makes its physical media debut this November.Released in 2014, They Want My Soul saw Spoon return from a four-year hiatus ready to blow up their sound. Half recorded by Strokes and White Stripes producer Joe Chiccarelli and half by Dave Fridmann of Flaming Lips and MGMT fame, They Want My Soul sees the low-key rockers have a psychedelic freakout, rediscovering their style and expanding upon it. Early sessions with Chiccarelli helped the band get back in touch with each other following a four-year vacation that saw members getting side projects off the ground. Fridmann’s production added another dimension for Spoon to explore, with the blend of big and little Spoons resulting in one of the group’s most successful albums. They Want My Soul: Deluxe More Soul Edition is available now on digital platforms. A gatefold double LP and a dual-disc CD hits stores on November 8 but is available for pre-order on the band’s website. Here’s the track listing for They Want My Soul: Deluxe More Soul Edition: Rent I Pay Inside Out Rainy Taxi Do You Knock Knock Knock Outlier They Want My Soul I Just Don’t Understand Let Me Be Mine New York Kiss Rent I Pay (Home Demo) One More Shot (Home Demo) The Way Love Comes (Home Demo) Inside Out (Home Demo) They Want My Soul (Home Demo) Outlier (Band Demo) Let Me Be Mine (Night Version Dub) Knock Knock Knock (Band Demo) Do You (Band Demo) New York Kiss (Home Demo) Inside Out (Reduction Mix)
