PH eagle ‘Uswag’ drowns off Cebu after straying from Leyte forests

CAMOTES ISLANDS, CEBU—One month after his release into a new home in the forests of Burauen, Leyte, 3-year-old “Uswag,” a male juvenile Philippine eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi), was found dead off the coasts of Pilar town on the Camotes Group of Islands in Cebu on Saturday. Uswag was floating among some sea debris when found at
