Government says 53 cases of Chandipura virus reported in country

India has reported 53 confirmed cases of Chandipura virus, with 19 deaths, mainly in Gujarat, prompting Union Health Minister J P Nadda to deploy a National Joint Outbreak Response Team to assist in public health measures and epidemiological investigation.
