A 48-hour delay has been imposed on the entry of the Bangladesh ‘A’ team in Pakistan due to the unstable circumstances in Bangladesh following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation.

Reportedly, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) notified the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday that the men’s ‘A’ team’s scheduled departure for Islamabad has been postponed for 48 hours because of circumstances beyond their control.

“The BCB and PCB have been in regular contact for the past two days and will continue to work together on the revised tour itinerary with further details to follow in due course,” a board spokesperson said.

The Bangladesh ‘A’ team was scheduled to land in Islamabad early on Wednesday in preparation for two four-day and three 50-over matches that will take place from August 10–27.

August 17 is when the Bangladesh national team is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan for a two-match Test series; however, the PCB is awaiting confirmation from the BCB due to the unrest in Bangladesh, where the army has declared it would form an interim administration.

This series is a part of the World Test Championship of the ICC.
