Hermes Airports: travel experience accompanied by dogs

Hermes Airports has launched a new programme to help relax stressed passengers prior to their flights, as well as to encourage adoptions from dog shelters. For the next three months, once a week and for a duration of two hours, specially-trained pooches will be found at the Departure Gates area of Larnaka airport, where passengers will have the opportunity to meet and pet them.

The Preboarding Zen mode programme has launched after weeks of preparation and training, with the dogs specially trained to handle the airport environment. All dogs participating in the programme are trained to comfort people and are accompanied by trainers, ensuring interactions are safe for everyone.

This initiative is part of Hermes Airports’ sustainability strategy and social responsibility, aiming to provide comfort to passengers, but also to create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere at the airport. Furthermore, this initiative highlights the importance of animal adoption, promoting the idea that shelter dogs can be the perfect companions.

“We are happy to present the Preboarding Zen Mode programme at Larnaka Airport, which, since its launch day, attracted a lot of passengers who wanted to pet Triggle, a friendly stray German shepherd,” said Hermes Airports Aviation Development, Marketing and Communication Director Maria Kouroupi. “Our goal is to offer passengers a unique and positive experience, whilst encouraging the adoption of dogs.”
