Patty Mills went one-on-one with the three-time NBA MVP at the Olympics and dropped a jumper in his face that looked as epic as any still we’ve seen from these Games.
The reality of the situation makes it even better.
With less than 10 seconds remaining in Australia’s quarterfinal matchup against Serbia, and the Boomers trailing by two, Mills took the ball near mid-court as Nikola Jokic switched onto him. Despite momentarily losing the handle, Mills collected himself for an awkward mid-range jumper that soared over Jokic’s outstretched hand and gently tumbled through the hoop.

The bucket sent the game to overtime, where Serbia finished off a 20-point comeback for a 95-90 victory, but we’ve got to tip our cap to Mills — and USA Today photographer Kyle Terada — for this epic shot.
