Bringing the community together for National Night Out

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Tonight in Downtown Portland there is an effort to bring first responders and the neighbors they serve together.

'National Night Out' at Director Park is a family-friendly event that is part of a country-wide effort to build community and a safer environment for everyone.

AM Extra was joined by Mark Wells, executive director for Downtown Portland Clean and Safe, to talk about tonight's event.
