Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new digitally native airline, has announced a collaboration with Boeing to adopt an array of advanced digital solutions.

Designed to streamline operations, reduce maintenance costs, and improve overall flight performance, the cutting-edge technology will help enable the airline as they prepare for their inaugural flight in 2025.

“By leveraging Boeing’s suite of digital solutions, we are well-positioned for a successful launch and sustainable growth, as we are currently preparing for flight trials and working towards obtaining AOC certification starting September, 2024,” said Peter Bellew, chief operating officer of Riyadh Air.

Key Agreements:

  • Airplane Health Management (AHM): Boeing’s AHM will provide Riyadh Air with real-time maintenance alerts and predictive analytics, helping to minimize aircraft time on ground and avoid flight disruption. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Boeing is introducing AHM 2.0, featuring enhanced prognostics, self-service analytics, and new alert categories.
  • Toolbox Tasks and Toolbox Library: These tools will offer comprehensive digital management of aircraft maintenance documentation, enabling efficient troubleshooting and repair processes.
  • Electronic Flight Bag (EFB): Riyadh Air will implement Boeing’s FliteDeck Pro with associated add-ons, enhancing pilot operations with real-time navigation and operational data.
  • Electronic Flight Folder (EFF): The Aviator and FliteBrief solutions will streamline flight planning and briefing processes, providing pilots with critical flight information.

Riyadh Air currently has 72 Boeing 787s on order with plans to grow its fleet by 2030.
