Kristin Chenoweth Earns Rave Reviews for New 'Queen of Versailles' Musical, Opening Night Photos Revealed!
Kristin Chenoweth is heading to Broadway in late 2025 with her new musical The Queen of Versailles, but you have a few weeks left to catch the show in Boston during its world premiere run!
The Tony-winning actress celebrated opening night of the new production on Thursday (August 1) at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston, Mass.
Kristin was joined by co-star F. Murray Abraham, composer Stephen Schwartz, book writer Lindsey Ferrentino, director Michael Arden, and documentary filmmaker Lauren Greenfield at the opening night show.
Reviews are in and Kristin has earned raves for her performance as Jackie Siegel, the woman who built the largest private home in America and modeled it after the Palace of Versailles.
Variety said, “Chenoweth is courageous and skillful in presenting a protagonist of utter folly, who never quite fathoms where she went wrong.” Boston.com noted “Chenoweth’s Jackie Siegel deserves to immediately enter the pantheon of unstoppable Broadway musical matrons alongside Streisand’s Fanny Brice, Merman’s Mama Rose, and Lansbury’s Auntie Mame.” Theatrely wrote, “this show is fun with a capital F and Chenoweth knows how to take charge of any audience and keep them with her till the curtain drops.”
The Queen of Versailles is running in Boston through August 25.
