State fishing lake to temporarily close this week

The Kingman State Fishing Lake will close for two days this week.

KINGMAN, Kan. (KSNW) -- The Kingman State Fishing Lake will close for two days this week.

The lake will undergo chemical treatment of cattails on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks says the closure is needed to protect the lake's ecosystem and to keep individuals safe.

The department says access to the lake, including fishing, camping, and other recreational activities, will be prohibited during the treatment. The lake and its facilities will reopen when the treatment is complete, and the area is safe again for use.

Any changes or updates about the closure will be posted at ksoutdoors.com.
