Arrest warrant issued for 2023 Lola Saratoga burglary
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga Springs Police Department reported that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Toron Melton, 34, of Washington D.C. Melton is accused of burglarizing Lola Saratoga on Broadway back in 2023.
On December 12, 2023, an investigation began after the owner of Lola Saratoga reported that two people had broken into the business and stolen over $100,000 in luxury handbags. Further review of evidence by police led to Melton being identified as a suspect.
The arrest warrant charges Melton with third-degree burglary and second-degree grand larceny. Lola Saratoga's Stuyvesant Plaza location in Guilderland was also burglarized in late July.
The investigations remain ongoing. Saratoga Springs Police are being assisted by state police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
