Spectrum Theatre co-owner Scott Meyers dies at 73

Spectrum Theatre co-founder Scott Meyers died on Sunday, Aug. 4, after a 12-year battle with Lewy Body and Parkinson's.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Spectrum Theatre co-founder Scott Meyers died on Sunday, Aug. 4, after a 12-year battle with Lewy Body and Parkinson's. Meyers opened the theatre alongside his wife, Annette, and other partners in 1983.

In addition to the theatre, Meyers opened the New World Bistro Bare in 2009 and The Kitchen Table restaurant shortly after. Meyers played a vital role in the Capital Region community and his legacy.

Meyers died at the age of 73, and donations in his memory can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. A Celebration of Life will be held at June Farms in West Sandlake on Monday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m.
