Paris Olympics: Chemutai denied by Yavi in steeplechase sprint finish

Uganda 39;s Peruth Chemutai failed to defend her Olympic 3000m steeplechase title after being beaten in a dramatic sprint finish by Bahrain 39;s Winfred Yavi at Paris 2024. The two athletes were locked together going into the home straight and remained neck-and-neck as they went over the final barrier with 50 metres to go.
