FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Tuesday Evening,

It has been another very hot & muggy day today, with the warmest afternoon in about a week with highs in the middle 90s today. There is a pretty noticeable cold front that is pushing south across the state this evening, and will bring chances of showers and storms to our area, this evening through overnight, with lows dropping to the upper 60s.

North of this front, temps have remained in the 60s most of the day today, but the core of the coolest air will not make it down into the area. However, we will see a nice drop in temps and humidity for Wednesday, with partly sunny skies, and highs only in the lower 80s. Things will bump back up for Thursday, with highs back in the upper 80s

We will be watching what is left of Tropical Storm Debby by late Thursday, as some isolated t-showers will be possible, especially in the east/southeast part of our area. Friday, another cold front will push through the area. I hesitate to call it weak, but it will not have a ton of fanfare with it, but will bring a chance of showers and a few isolated storms.

I think the better chance of rain will remain in the east, where the front will interact with remnant moisture from Debby. Highs on Friday will stay in the middle 80s. Friday night with the cold front pushing east, we will see some clearing, and lows in the mid to upper 50s. This front will show its strength, as we could have a couple of afternoons this weekend with highs only reaching into the 70s, well below normal for this time of the year.

In fact, if we do in fact stay in the 70s for Saturday & Sunday, this would be the first time that has happened (sub 80s highs 2 days in a row) since June 10 & 11th. Sunshine will be abundant both day with lows in the mid to upper 50s, with some low 50s north, and highs will be in the mid to upper 70s both days.

Monday temps will moderate a bit, but stay below normal, with highs near 80 with sunshine. We will have more clouds on Tuesday, and highs closer to normal in the lower 80s.
