Alison Sweeney Returning to 'Days Of Our Lives' Following 2-Year Hiatus

Get ready for the return of Alison Sweeney on Days of Our Lives!

On Tuesday (August 6), it was announced that the 47-year-old actress will be reprising her role as Sami Brady on the long-running soap opera after a two-year hiatus.

Alison first joined Days in 1993 and after playing Sami for 21 years, she left the show in 2014. She returned in 2021 in Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas and her last cameo on the soap was in December 2022.

“I love playing Sami and I am always happy for the chance to come back,” Alison continued. “We always have to figure out scheduling and such, but if at all possible, I’m so glad to make it happen.”

While she didn’t reveal why her character’s returning, Alison did tease that she was “pretty shocked” by the “unexpected storyline.”

Alison is filming scenes now, but her episodes are expected to air until early 2025.

Since leaving Days, Alison has starred in a ton of fan-favorite movies on Hallmark Channel.

It was also recently announced that this Days of Our Lives star is leaving the show amid a new lawsuit.
