‘That’s selfish – you shouldn’t be boasting’ people fume as shopper gloats about clearing Tesco shelves of £1.58 bargain
A BARGAIN hunter has left shoppers fuming after clearing the shelves in Tesco.
A woman from the UK, named Lyndsey Diane, was browsing her local Tesco when she spotted that a huge stash of meat had been slashed.
Thrilled with her find, the savvy shopper took the lot, and was eager to let others know on social media.
So if the cost-of-living crisis has meant that you’re on a budget, then you’ll want to check this out.
Posting on Yellow sticker shopping tips, tricks and hauls, a private Facebook group with 202,500 members, the meat-lover shared a snap of her huge haul of British lamb hearts, leaving many open-mouthed.
Alongside the post, Lyndsey wrote: “Did someone say lamb?”
She then claimed: “Yup I got every one of them, YUM!”
Lyndsey managed to get her hands on 12 packs of lamb hearts, so it was no surprise that she was clearly thrilled with her cheap finds.
The packs of meat had been reduced down from £3.22, to just £1.58 a pack.
What should have cost Lyndsey £38.64 instead cost only £18.96, saving her a whopping £19.68.
But social media users were left totally divided by the post, which was shared just 14 hours ago.
Whilst some were happy for Lyndsey for nabbing such a whopping haul, others described her as ‘greedy’ for taking the lot.
One foodie beamed: “Good for you. Enjoy them and ignore all the people who wouldn’t eat it or didn’t get there in time.”
A second penned: “First come first serve. We live in a dog eat dog world. Take what you can, give nothing back.”

Whilst another congratulated Lyndsey and expressed: “Well done! What a haul. Result for you!”
When do supermarkets put out yellow-sticker bargains?
The time supermarkets reduce their products vary across stores.
Here’s a rough supermarket-by-supermarket guide:
Aldi
Aldi uses a red sticker to show reductions on fresh products such as bread, meat, fruit and vegetables.
This is when they have reached the last day of shelf life.
Red stickered items are most commonly found at opening and closing times.
M&S
Reduction times can vary from store to store but is most likely to occur near closing time.
Asda
Asda told Which? that yellow stickers are applied twice a day – in the morning and evening.
Co-op
Co-op told The Sun its reduced-to-clear prices are generally applied about four hours before the store closes.
Lidl
Lidl has a similar procedure to Asda and Aldi with reductions twice a day.
However individual stores may opt to reduce prices throughout the day.
Morrisons
Shoppers online have said that Morrisons does the best bargains first thing in the morning.
However, the store told Which? that there are no specific times for yellow sticker price cuts.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s told The Sun it’s at the store manager’s discretion whether to offer discounts.
However, shoppers have reported that the best deals are in the evening from 6pm.
Tesco
Tesco has said there is no specific time for reduction, but again most people found that prices were reduced from 6pm.
Waitrose
As with most of the other stores, Waitrose shoppers have said the best reductions are found before closing.
However, the store stated that there is no specific time for yellow stickers to be applied.
But despite this, at the same time, not everyone was as complimentary on Lyndsey’s cheap finds.
