Often feeling sick and tired in the mornings, Sophia put her troubles down her dairy intolerance.

However, as the sickness continued, it became apparent to Sophia and her boyfriend that she was in fact pregnant.

She said: “I basically didn’t think I was pregnant at all.

“I had been very sick and tired all the time and didn’t think anything of it, I thought what was going on was because I was eating a ton of dairy, and I’ve always had a dairy intolerance.”

Attending a private Christian school and often having prefect grades, Sophia shocked her friends and family when she revealed that she was to become a mother.

The teen from Santa Cruz, California, USA, fell in love with the idea of being a mother and was something she always wanted even if it did come earlier than expected.

Worried at what the reaction would be like from their family, they eventually plucked up the courage to reveal the big news.

Deciding to tell her grandmother first, she waited until she left the house and sent her text.

Wanting to make sure, her grandmother went straight to the shop and got Sophia a test, which turned out to be positive.

Although the original reaction from her family was disappointment, the pair were pushed into being more responsible and given a chance to step up.

Despite her boyfriend having worries about telling his own parents, they were very supportive as his own mother went through a teen pregnancy herself.

As their lifechanging journey went on her friends decided to hold a gender reveal party for the couple, which is when they found out they were having a boy.
