Fans left fuming after seventies rock icons cancel UK tour at the last minute with no explanation amid legal battle

JOURNEY fans have been left fuming after the seventies rock icons cancelled their UK tour at the last minute.

With members currently embroiled in a legal battle, the band gave no explanation as they put the decision down to “circumstances beyond their control”.

Journey released a statement yesterday reading: “Due to circumstances beyond the band’s control, Journey’s UK and Ireland tour is unfortunately cancelled.

“Refunds will be made from your point of purchase.”

The 50th anniversary tour, which has already travelled across the U.S., was set to begin in Cardiff in October and travel to cities including Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London.

It would have marked Journey’s first UK and Ireland tour in more than 10 years, and they were set to be joined by special guests Cheap Trick.

But fans, who had already purchased tickets, were left devastated after receiving an email from Ticketmaster informing that dates had been cancelled.

Many took to social media to express their disappointment, with one tweeting: “Journey just cancelled their uk tour with no explanation.”

Another said: “Journey just cancelled their tour I was so excited for it too.”

A third asked: “Any idea lads why the Journey tour has been cancelled?”

Someone else raged: “So the @JourneyOfficial U.K. tour has been cancelled for the now standard reason of “circumstances beyond the band’s control”… which tells us nothing and can mean anything!! Will we ever be told the real reason? Will UK ever get a chance to see @NealSchonMusic etc again?”

While no official reason has been given for the cancellation, the decision comes amid growing tensions within the band.

Just last week, keyboardist Jonathan Cain filed a lawsuit against guitarist Neal Schon, accusing him of excessive spending related to the tour.

Jonathan claims that Neal’s financial mismanagement could potentially cause severe damage to the band and its legacy.

The lawsuit alleges that Neal has exceeded agreed-upon spending limits for accommodation and travel, including chartering private jets and booking expensive hotel suites.

Jonathan also claims that Neal has blocked attempts to pay the band’s debts.

Journey’s frontman, Arnel Pineda, has previously spoken out about the difficulties of touring with the band.

In a 2016 interview, he said: “It’s not always easy being on the road with a bunch of guys who have been doing this for 40 years.”

Arnel also hinted that he might be considering leaving the band. He said: “I’m not sure how much longer I can keep doing this.”

Journey are known for songs like Don’t Stop Believin’, Open Arms and Separate Ways.
