PopUP Talks second edition a success

The 2nd edition of the PopUp Talks, Stories that Inspire gathering was a complete success, offering attendees the opportunity to hear personal stories and experiences, but also to gain basic knowledge on interesting topics. The event, held at The House of Lavrentios Conference Centre in Kalopanayiotis, attracted over 120 people, ranging from 14- to 70-year-olds. The diverse audience included both Kalopanayiotis residents, as well as people from the surrounding communities, and visitors from other districts who combined a mountain excursion with an afternoon full of inspiration.

The event featured short presentations by four distinguished Cypriot speakers.

Mental health empowerment volunteer Poly Gregora spoke on mental health and developed the theme of transformation from stigma to self-awareness, discussing the critical need for social transparency about depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Trainer, coach and facilitator Christina O’Neill discussed the importance of the Transformation Mindset, i.e. changing old habits and beliefs to promote personal growth and transformation.

Associate Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience Dr Nikos Konstantinou explored and analysed the interesting concept of reality as our brain perceives it, and how it shapes the world around us.

Finally, entrepreneur Simos Kitiris shared his insights on seeking challenge and embracing obstacles towards personal growth.

The enthusiasm and positive feedback from the audience were excellent, with many participants expressing their thanks to the organisers for putting on the stimulating and inspiring event.

The organisers, in turn, expressed their sincere thanks to all the event’s partners and supporters who, with their participation, contributed to the success of the 2nd PopUp Talks: inspiring stories. These include: Health Aid Nutritional Supplements: ‘Supplementing the Good Life’ as Inspirational Partner, SeaTecHub as Supporter, MSPS Cyprus as PR Sponsor and Appios Creative Studio as Creative Partner.

Hosts of the event were the Kalopanayiotis Community Council, supported by the Moutoullas, Pedoulas, Oikos, Gerakies and Mylikouri communities.

Looking ahead, the organising team is excited to announce the next PopUp Talks gathering: “City Edition”, scheduled to take place on December 7, 2024, at Nicosia’s Melina Mercouri Hall. More details about the upcoming event will be announced on the Pop up Talks, Stories that inspire, Facebook page.
