A LOVE is Blind UK star got emotional as she told her would-be husband about discovering her dad wasn’t her biological father.
Sabrina, from Belfast, opened up about her childhood in the pod while getting to know love interest Steve.
“My parents got divorced when I was 13,” she explained.
“He wasn’t around a lot and it was always me asking ‘when are we meeting up?’
“It got to the point where I was like, I’m not going to contact him anymore and let’s just see how long it takes.
“He never contacted me again.”
Sabrina, who is now 35, continued: “When I was 28 my mum said she had to have a difficult conversation with me.
“She said ‘he’s not actually your father, your father is from Italy. When you were younger he wanted to move back to Italy and I wanted to stay in Ireland.’
“It was obviously a lot for me to process.
“I was named after a person I’d never known and named after a person who wasn’t actually my father and who didn’t want to know.
“I think sometimes that’s why I can be quite guarded with men and I do sometimes find it really difficult to let my guard down…”
Sabrina broke off as she became overwhelmed with emotion.
She was opening up to her love interest, 37-year-old Steve, who is a gym owner.
He had just told her about his former long-term girlfriend had broken up with him while she was undergoing cancer treatment, leaving him heartbroken.
