Liverpool are yet to convince Manchester United target Martin Zubimendi to consider a move to Anfield this summer, according to The Athletic.
The Reds are pushing forward with their attempts to sign a new number 6 in the ongoing transfer window.
Zubimendi, who has also been on Manchester United’s shortlist of targets, has emerged as a top target for the Merseyside giants.
Liverpool are exploring the possibility of taking the midfielder to Anfield in the coming weeks.
However, they are yet to sell the move to the Spain international, who impressed in the European Championship.
Liverpool have not yet convinced the player to consider the move to the Premier League at this stage of the window.
Zubimendi has other suitors in the Premier League and none of them have been able to convince him to leave Real Sociedad yet.
His release clause of €60m would also have to be paid up in full unless Real Sociedad agree to accept a negotiated fee.
For the moment, Liverpool have work to do to convince the player and work out a financially suitable deal if they are to sign Zubimendi.
