WATCH: Mohammed Siraj And Kusal Mendis Get Into Ugly Fight In 3rd ODI

India pacer Mohammad Siraj clashed with Kusal Mendis in a heated exchange during the third ODI, as India seeks to level the series against a strong Sri Lankan side led by Jeffrey Vandersay's six-wicket haul.

New Delhi: India Pacer Mohammad Siraj yet again lost his calm as he engaged with Kusal Mendis in a heated verbal argument in the thir ODI of the series at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday, August 7.

In the 39th over, Siraj delivered a ball that kept a bit low on the off-side, and though Mendis managed to get some bat on it, no runs were scored. After the delivery, Siraj took a few steps toward the batter, leading to an exchange of words between the two.

The Sri Lankan side has shown solid form in the 50-over series against India, currently leading after their recent victory. The Indian team will look to deliver a strong batting performance to level the series. However, the Sri Lankan bowling attack, especially their spinners, has been particularly challenging.

In the last game, Jeffrey Vandersay was instrumental for Sri Lanka, taking six wickets in the second innings to secure the win. With the series at stake, Rohit Sharma’s men will aim to overcome the Lankan spinners and clinch the victory.

Rohit Sharma has been in solid form with the bat, providing strong starts for the Indian team in the last two matches. However, the rest of the Indian batting lineup has struggled to deliver when it counts.

As a result, the Indian team has given Riyan Parag his ODI debut. Parag made a notable impact in today’s first innings, taking 3 wickets, including those of Avishka Fernando, Charith Asalanka, and Dunith Wellalage. The young Indian cricketer will now look to make a contribution with the bat, aiming to help chase down the 249-run target set by Sri Lanka.
