Latest Star Wars game is releasing on more platforms and players are thrilled to have more ways to play

STAR Wars is one of the world’s biggest franchises, and it maintains its popularity by releasing new forms of entertainment based on the expansive universe every year.

Whether that’s video games, films, or TV shows, there are always new Star Wars stories for fans to enjoy.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor keeps the style of the original game while adding new features

While everyone is excited for Star Wars Outlaws, which is releasing at the end of the month on August 30, there’s another triple-A Star Wars video game announcement.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched last year to critical acclaim, scoring a whopping 86 rating on review aggregate site Metacritic.

The second game in the Star Wars Jedi series, it continues the story of Cal Kestis from the original game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

It introduced a number of new elements such as the ability for Cal to use five different lightsaber types, allowing players to change their combat style.

The game was originally released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC back in April 2023, but it was recently revealed that it will come to two more platforms in the near future.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s official Twitter account posted a statement saying that the game will soon be released for PS4 and Xbox One.

Both ports of the game will launch on September 17, 2024, just a few weeks after Star Wars Outlaws is released.

While the new ports will allow millions more people to play the game, many fans are still questioning the decision.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S launched almost four years ago, back in 2020, and the previous generation of consoles dates back to 2013.

This has led many to question why publishers would still choose to launch new releases on such old hardware.

One comment reads: “This is a bad idea. What’s wrong with finally moving on from 11-year-old consoles?”

Another person added: “When’s the PS2 release?”

Others were skeptical about how the game will run on the older hardware, given its performance on newer consoles.

Someone stated: “Last gen players are gonna love the super smooth experience of 5 FPS.”

Another more rudely wrote: “What the hell are you even thinking?

“[The] game is neither running properly on current gen consoles nor on PC. What are we even doing here?”
