Our Cruising Group are looking for your expressions of interest in our next event which is a ‘Sea Passage’ from Friday 13 September to Monday 16 September. We are planning a 2 night / 3 day cruise to a location or locations in the Isle of Man or Wales with an outbound distance of between 60nm – 80nm.
The cruise is being planned to include Friday to Monday with the hope of picking the best 3 day weather window. The cruise itself may require anchoring overnight and some night sailing.
We have shortlisted locations, and the final itinerary will be chosen once we have better visibility on weather closer to the time of departure. The choice of destination will be influenced by safety and comfortable sailing conditions.
We will be running briefings a week prior to departure with a final briefing a day or so before departure to discuss passage planning and pilotage for those who wish to attend. Extracts of the relevant pilot books will be made available also. We are aware that some of you will be very comfortable with a trip like this; we would encourage anybody who has an interest, but who may be reluctant, to contact the office Edel can put you in touch with one of the Cruising Committee to discuss any aspect of this trip so you can make an informed decision.
At this point we are only asking boat owners for their expressions of interest; we will be extending this if there are crew spaces available.
It would be very helpful if those interested could respond quickly on the below JotForm link before Sunday 18 August as this will greatly facilitate planning.
