Missing Brit Simon Robinson’s family share update on desperate cross-continent search and blast ‘ridiculous’ web trolls
THE FAMILY of missing Brit Simon Robinson have blasted web trolls, calling them ridiculous.
Simon, 27, from Lincolnshire was reported missing by his loved family after he failed to catch a flight home from Thailand.
His loved ones are now begging online trolls to stop leaving ridiculous comments on posts asking for information.
Simon’s cousin Natalia Lou posted on Facebook saying: “We don’t need ridiculous comments or negative b******t from anyone.
“We just need to find Simon.”
It comes after Simon’s sister Sarah Robinson Dale, posted an update on her brother who is now believed to have caught a flight from Thailand to Finland.
She said on a recent Facebook post: “We now know he boarded the flight to Helsinki on July 26 but he did not take the connecting flight to Manchester.
“Please keep sharing.”
A flyer Sarah shared on Facebook said Simon’s phone had been switched off and that he hadn’t made any contact with his family or friends.
Simon was originally feared to have vanished in Bangkok with his distraught family believing he never boarded a plane back home on July 26, despite his phone pinging minutes from the airport.
In a Facebook post, Sarah said: “We have received confirmation that Simon did board the flight on the 26th July.
“A massive thank you to everyone that has shared and the kind people that have found this information out as the authorities at both sides haven’t done anything.
“I am waiting for a call back from the police and embassy in Helsinki.”
South Yorkshire Police confirmed Simon’s case had been reported to them but said they hadn’t issued their own missing person’s appeal.
Sarah said the information about Simon hopping on a plane out of Thailand came despite the fact “UK police confirmed he didn’t”.
It comes after a man claiming to be a Thai immigration officer told them he did in fact board a plane.
It’s believed he took a Finnair flight from Bangkok-Helsinki, but never hopped on a connecting jet into the UK.
Simon, from Skegness in Lincolnshire, originally flew to Thailand on July 22 and wasn’t due to come home until August 3.
But on July 26 he phoned his girlfriend to let her know he was flying home early, according to The Lincolnite.
He hasn’t been heard from since.
Simon’s pal Sam Champ had taken to social media to raise awareness.
He wrote: “One of my dear friends has gone missing in Bangkok, he hasn’t been heard from since the 26th of July.
“He was supposed to board a flight that day and he didn’t show up. It was his 27th birthday yesterday and everyone is growing very concerned.
“He has been reported as a missing person.
“I’ve attached a picture of him, his name is Simon Robinson and he’s from Lincolnshire.
“If anyone could share this post onward to anyone in Bangkok or Thailand I’d be so grateful.”
The Foreign Office said it stood ready to assist any Brit on overseas soil but stopped short of commenting on Simon’s case.
International police organisation Interpol said it wouldn’t comment on specific cases unless there were “special circumstances” or approval from the missing person’s country.
Another Brit vanished in Sardinia in July.
Michael Frison, 25, was said to have left his home on the Italian island “undressed” before disappearing, according to his worried mum.

It comes after Jay Slater sleuths tried to gain access to the teenager’s autopsy results.
Attempts by mindless sleuths to get the information came after trolls reported the 19-year-old had been seen at Sainsbury’s, watching a Euros game and on the Eurostar before his body was found.
Jay’s family had also received a series of “vile death threats” and “fake ransoms” as they continued to search for the teen.
Most recently, the family has had to deal with scammers who are looking to profit off the teen’s death.
Trolls claim to have access to a live stream link where people can watch Jay’s funeral when it takes place in just days time.
In order to watch, the scam artists are reportedly asking viewers to send money through donations.
The family have strongly denied any live footage will be available online and have slammed the people behind the awful ploy.
Web bullies have constantly criticised Jay’s mum Debbie Duncan, 55, and other members of the family since the teen vanished.
Sickos were caught selling merchandise featuring photos and memes of Jay online less than 24 hours after his body was found last month.
The family were also plagued by online trolls who hacked Jay’s Instagram page.
Jay’s furious dad Warren Slater was even forced to hit back at trolls for criticising his family.
