Ryan Reynolds’ Input in Blake Lively’s 'It Ends With Us' Shows How in Sync Their Partnership Is

Looking from the outside, one might think that Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds have a little rivalry going on. After all, their highly anticipated movies, Deadpool & Wolverine and It Ends With Us, are being released just weeks apart. But, according to Lively and Reynolds themselves, their projects are more like joint collaborations than anything else.

In It Ends With Us, for example, Lively recently admitted that Reynolds wrote a crucial scene in the movie. “The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it,” Blake told E! News at the premiere in New York City on Aug. 6. “Nobody knows that, but you now.”

The rooftop scene she’s referring to is when her character Lily Bloom meets one of her love interests Ryle Kincaid (played by Justin Baldoni) for the very first time.

“We help each other,” Lively said of her and Reynolds’ work dynamic. “He works on everything I do, I work on everything he does.”

“So his wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his,” she added. No rivalry going on here!

And, of course, in addition to working together, Lively and Reynolds celebrate together too. Reynolds dressed the part yesterday in the It Ends With Us premiere while Lively gave her spin on high-fashion Deadpool in Reynolds’ big movie premiere in July.

Just last month, Lively shared with her fans just how much she was involved in the Deadpool franchise on social media. “Tell me Deadpool is married to a millennial girl in real life without telling me,” Lively in a bare-faced video on Instagram.

The video then cut to small snippets of Deadpool’s three movies, including moments from the trailer of the new one. Among the millennial references he makes are having Avril Lavigne in the soundtrack, a mention of Harry Potter‘s sorting hat, Deadpool’s dance breaks to Celine Dion and *NSYNC, and quick hilarious shout-outs to Sabrina the Teenage WitchMy Little Pony, Summer Balayage and Judy Blume.

“I have never felt more seen,” Lively cheerfully said at the end of the video.

Looks like these two have a hand in each other’s work more than we expected. Talk about relationship goals!
