Montana cities waiting on Trump to fork over $50K after stiffing them for costs of rallies

With Vice President Kamala Harris and her vice presidential running mate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) barnstorming the country this week with only 90 plus days to go before the election, Donald Trump will only be making one public appearance in Montana.

On Friday the former president will take the stage at tiny Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the campus of Montana State University, while Harris and Walz will be in Phoenix, followed by a Las Vegas rally on Saturday.

As NBC-Montana is reporting, Trump last appeared in Montana in 2018 in four cities — two of which are still waiting on him to pay 6-year-old bills.

With reporter Bowen West writing, "Around the country, reports claim his campaign rarely pays invoices to local government for the increased police presence, security and other costs that come with hosting the event. Some places in Montana are still expecting payment," he added, "Officials with Missoula County confirmed and sent NBC Montana the invoice showing $12,922.82 is still owed. That breaks down to $10,835.41 for officer salaries, $1,059.26 for dispatcher salaries, $693.72 for Office of Emergency Management and $334.43 for miscellaneous expenses."

Missoula County is not the only place in Montana the former president has stiffed.

The report notes that an "official with the city of Billings confirmed they were never reimbursed for the cost of additional police presence totaling $45,900."

"NBC Montana checked with the city of Bozeman and Gallatin County to see if Trump’s rally in 2018 was ever reimbursed and if they have any projections for the cost of this Friday’s rally. We did not hear back before filing this story," the report added.

According to a report from Raw Story, Trump also ran into unpaid bills problems in May of this year in Wildwood, New Jersey where city officials demanded he make good on unpaid rally bills before returning.
