Daytime TV legend returning to screens 15 years after her talk show was axed to guest host GMB twice next week

SHE was once the queen of the morning schedules, so it seems fitting Trisha Goddard is back on our screens with breakfast TV.

I can reveal that the one-time presenter of chat show Trisha will be stepping in to guest host ITV’s Good Morning Britain twice next week.

And she will be dropping in to the studio today to confirm her new gig and talk about living with cancer.

A TV insider said: “Trisha’s personal story is a real tale of determination and the perfect piece of inspiration for people going through a similar ordeal.

“Despite everything she has been throug, she is back doing what she does best — getting into the thick of news and current affairs on a big show.”

Trisha ran on ITV from 1998 to 2004, then on Channel 5 from 2004 to 2010.

It had a huge following across the country.

Towards the end of the series she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she beat.

But this year she revealed it returned in 2022.

Trisha, 66, confirmed that although it was treatable, it had spread to another part of her body and was no longer curable.

She said six months ago: “With that knowledge comes grief and fear.

“But I must keep enjoying what I have always enjoyed.

“I’m a journalist. I don’t want to be ‘the story’.

“I don’t want to be interviewing someone and for them to say to me, ‘I’m so sorry’.”

I look forward to seeing Trisha back doing what she does best next week.

It follows friends Fiona and Nick, who cross paths at a group therapy session for people have who have struggled   with loss.

A weekend trip together sees deeper feelings start to brew.
It marks India’s first role since the success of the Netflix hit.

But despite the huge popularity, it is not due for a second series.

Show creator Shomda Rhimes is instead working on the fourth series of Bridgerton, which follows Benedict and will start filming later this year.

SIMON IN NEW LOOK ORDER

THINGS are looking a little less traditional for Simon Bird and his on-screen son Harry Connor as they return for a second run of Everything Else Burns.

They have swapped their smart suits for bright orange trackies for the new series.

Despite protests from dad David, Harry’s character Aaron tries to drag their religious sect The Order into the modern day.

The Channel 4 series follows the God-fearing Lewis family, who are part of a puritanical Christian sect.

The six new episodes are expected to air next year.

Kate O’Flynn returns as mum Fiona and Amy James-Kelly is daughter Rachel.

New cast members include Fleabag’s Sian Clifford.

ANDREW AND A SET OF KNIVES

ANDREW SCOTT is used to being the hot priest – but the Fleabag actor seems to have met his match with Josh O’Connor while filming their new Knives Out movie.

He chatted to Josh, who was in religious robes for the latest murder mystery instalment from Netflix.

It also features Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, and Cailee Spaeny.

The third film in the franchise, which follows Daniel Craig as private investigator Benoit Blanc – “the world’s greatest detective” – will be called Wake Up Dead Man.

It follows the success of 2019 film Knives Out, and its 2022 follow-up Glass Onion.

Andrew, dressed in a checked shirt, joked with Josh as they filmed in Epping Forest, Essex, alongside No Country For Old Men actor Josh Brolin, who was also in priest robes.

But they probably won’t be laughing for long, as filmmakers revealed the storyline will be Benoit’s most dangerous case yet.

The film will hit screens in 2025.

SCOTT’S ACROSS TO BEAR

CELEBRITY Race Across The World is designed to test the navigational skills and endurance of competitors.

But for Scott and his then-fiancé Sam, taking part in the BBC One show was more a test of their relationship.

The series starts off in northern Brazil next Wednesday and Scott, whose wedding was in June, said: “Before we get married, everyone says the holiday test is you know you could be with somebody if you go on holiday with them.

“This is like that – times a thousand.

“Not that I have any doubts Sam is the one for me, but there will be times in this, I imagine, when it will get stressful.

“We’ll struggle without our dog, talking to family, and EastEnders.

“We watch that every night, so that’s going to be a struggle, not knowing what’s going on.

“We’re a good team I think. Well, we’ll find out.”
