Matthew Judon polarized Patriots fans with how he's handled his contract dispute with New England, and one can imagine what the fervor is like on social media.

Judon and Jerod Mayo got into a verbal spat during practice last week, but the pair seemingly put their differences aside, and the star pass rusher was back on the field without incident. A new contract did not come with that, and the 31-year-old deflected questions about his situation.

New England hasn't betrayed where it leans on Judon, but it's been speculated among fans and analysts that a trade could help rectify the situation for the locker room. That was what one fan hoped Wednesday when they posted on X that they were counting the days until the Patriots traded Judon, who they called an "overrated diva ass."

"What I do at 6am this morning," Judon reposted on X.

That's not the way anyone wants to wake up in the morning, and the negativity toward Judon came on the same week the Pro Bowl linebacker got into a back-and-forth exchange with WEEI hosts Andy Gresh and Christian Fauria, who haven't been fans of the way Judon has handled his contract situation or how he's answered questions to the media.

New England failed in its pursuit of acquiring Brandon Aiyuk, which could leave more time for it to work with Judon on either the contract extension he wants or a trade that some fans yearn for.
