Pro bull riders competition returns to MVP Arena

The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Unleash The Beast competition is returning to Albany for the third consecutive year. The event is set for December 27 and 28 at MVP Arena.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Unleash The Beast competition is returning to Albany for the third consecutive year. The event is set for December 27 and 28 at MVP Arena.

For two nights, more than 30 bull riders will be competing. The upcoming show will be one of the first events in the new season where each rider will try to earn points to become the 2025 PBR World Champion.

In the December 2023 show, Austin Richardson earned his third career win and first since April 2022. Richardson earned a total of 157 Unleash The Beast points, rising to number two in the World Championship rankings.

In the competition's first year at the MVP Arena, Andrew Alvidrez went 3-for-3 to earn his second Unleash The Beast win. It was the competition's first year back in the Capital Region in 14 years.

The 2024 show will begin Round 1 at 7:45 p.m. on December 27, followed by Round 2 and the championship round at 7:45 p.m. on December 28. Following the Round 2 night, the riders' individual two-round scores will be calculated. The top 12 competitors will advance to the championship round.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, August 14 at 10 a.m. Those interested in the event can purchase tickets on the Ticketmaster website or on the PBR website. Tickets can also be purchased by calling PBR customer service at 1-800-732-1727 or at the MVP Arena Box Office.
